Dr. Koji Tachikawa was the
founder and a consultant of the Doctors’ Opinion, which analyzes
healthcare environments and design successful business model, since
its establishment in 1990. In 1998 he joined the Healthcare Services
Group of Smithkline Beecham PLC to build its business strategy and
implement marketing and sales of IT integrated managed-care service
in Japan. He succeeded in the first stage product development and
deployment. In 2000, he co-founded Medicalstream Corp., which provides
system and operation infrastructure with BPR consultancy to slim
inefficient traditional healthcare supply chain. Currently Dr. Tachikawa
is Director and Professor of Hospital Management Strategy and Planning,
Nagoya University Hospital. He is still actively involved in consultancy
work of healthcare and life science business development.

Dr. Tachikawa graduated from
Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 1983 and practiced clinical
cardiology for seven years before jumping into business world. He
plays active role in medical community as a Fellow of the Japanese
Circulation Society, Fellow of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine,
Elected Board Member of the Japanese Society of Clinical Pathway,
and is appointed editorial board member of Japan Association of Health
Service Management Consultants.
